I Got So Scared!

This morning when I saw my hubby in our yard writhing in agony due to severe back pain, seeing him in that position I thought he was having a heart attack for Christ sake!  But after he told me what really happened to him I was so relieved. According to him he was trying to pull-out the frozen rubbish barrels when he move his body in a wrong way then suddenly he couldn’t move anymore.  Because of the pain even talking is difficult for him so I told him to call his boss and stay home for the day so he could rest his back. I put a cold compress on the affected area every 4 hours and gave him pain pills all day.  He told me he’s feeling a little better now.  Well, I pray that he’s going to heal more tonight.

  1. Very sorry to hear that, and I hope he'll feel better soon. Keep up the cold compress + NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, taken with food and/or milk... tough on the stomach) to reduce inflammation. Ibuprofen doesn't cause liver toxicity like, whereas acetaminophen (Tylenol) does. After he's feeling a little better he could switch to to a heating pad in a few days. Some of the muscle rubs (similar to efficascent oil or Omega rub from Philippines are pretty good), especially those with methyl salicylate. My wife and I usually try to get those whenever we go to Philippines.

Just found your blog and followed, looking forward to reading it. Please stop by mine if you get a chance. Take care!

  2. Thanks for your concerns and for the great tips. He's doing okay now but still sore but he already went to work after a day of rest because he don't want to miss more days from work :(
