There Is A Unique Strategy When Shopping For Groceries

Guest post by Quincy Lester
Every week my schedule is extremely busy, therefore organization is mandatory in my household. I have two teenage boys and loving husband, so grocery shopping is the highlight of every week. Moreover, I plan my shopping trip very carefully. I sit down at my kitchen table every Thursday night and create a list for all the items that we need, such as milk, butter, bread, and so forth. After writing down the essentials, I make a list for the ingredients I need for Sunday's dinner, which is the only day of the week that I cook a "big" meal for the family. Next, I take personal requests for particular products, and I only accept one request per person, because I know my boys can eat. After I have completed my shopping list I make sure that I am within my weekly budget. I glance over my clipped coupons for any items on the list. Finally, on Friday morning I grab my purse, the grocery shopping list, all my necessary coupons, set my first alert alarm system, and I am off to fill our refrigerator with groceries. Even more, I enjoy shopping for groceries alone, because I know how to make my personal strategy work. This is my schedule every week of each month, and I love it.

On Health Tips: Microwave

It's been a while now since I posted my last tips. I miss writing tips. But what can I do right? Nothing!  I am still so busy working and keeping up our house clean. In fact  I have to wake up at 4:00am tomorrow to go to work..
Anyway, here is my tip for you before the weekend ends. Okay, Do you think cooking in the microwave causes food to lose nutrients, right? WRONG! Microwaved food may retain vitamins, BETTER than stovetop-cooked food. That's because the microwave zaps it quickly and without much water. One study found that spinach retained only 77 percent of the B-vitamin folate when cooked on a stove but retained ALL of it's folate when cooked in a microwave. Source: Consumer Reports On Health

Stay Healthy Everyone! Enjoy The Rest Of The Weekend!

Benches

My garden bench that my hubby bought for me as mother’s day gift  last year is already rotten.  I really didn’t like it much because it is made of wood. I know mostly  wood benches don’t last long especially when it gets wet from the rain. Sure enough it’s rotten now. Because we leave it outside when it rained one day. Now we have to buy  one again.
Well, my first choice was the stone garden benches but  the one I like that time was very pricey. I do like stone benches because  it is so practical. It is a lifetime use. You don’t have to worry to leave it outside and get rotten from the rain or snow.  I like the different design of garden benches  It really added beauty to your garden.

I Didn’t Know It’s Weekend Again?! Anyway Enjoy The Weekend Everyone!

I had a great  weekend last Sunday. It was our 2nd year wedding anniversary. My hubby surprised me with a beautiful card.
That card makes me cry hard while reading it. The message is really meant for us.  I thought the card was the only surprised that he had for me. Then he said, now that you’re done reading the card. You can now find your gift inside my truck. It was 2:30pm, and of course it was so hot that time.  It took me ages before I found it. I didn’t know that there’s a hidden compartment in the arm rest of his truck. Well,   it's worth it all the sweats I shed because my hunnie gave me a family ring. The 4 stones that you can see are our birthstone. The first stone is a Diamond (hunnie), next is Amethyst (my stepdaughter Laura), Turquoise (my daughter Shaneika) and Peridot (mine).
Oh! Well, I am supposed to post it last week. But I didn’t had a chance to do it. I got so busy  of my daughters 1st play date with her best friend Catarina this week. Here are some of their photo's. They had so much fun all day swimming at my sis in law (Donna S.) place.

...And my dear sis in law surprised me an advance little celebration for my birthday. What else can i say, except it was a weekend full of surprises!

Scrubs and Medical Uniforms

After my first bad shopping online experience, I always hesitate  doing  it again. But I  give  it another  try. Well, my last order came out fine. Also I don’t have a choice. I don’t drive yet. So,  in a situation like mine, online shopping is the only resource when you need something urgent. Sometimes  I can’t wait for my hubby until the weekend to drive me to the shopping mall  to get the things that I need. So,  I just get it online.
Right now, I needed an additional scrubs. I only had 3 sets of it. Most of the time I have 4 to 5 days work schedule in a week. So, I have to wash my medical scrubs that I worn after work. Sometimes it’s a  pain in the neck doing that way.  Because I don't have enough time at night.  If I have like 5 sets of  it,  I am all set. Well, through shopping online today. I stabled upon  blue sky scrubs online store. I check out their products and pricing.  I am convinced that I can afford their price. It is kind of  affordable. I guess, I can complete my set of uniforms now.

Last Holiday Brings Me Comfort Away From Home

Written by my friend Lino Brown
My favorite chick flick has to be Last Holiday.  I remember first watching this DVD when I was studying abroad in Costa Rica. I remember I was missing home and wanted to watch something that reminded me of the USA. This movie really hit the spot, even though over half the movie was located in another country. However, the movie was in English and had American actors in it. Two of the main characters include Queen Latifah and LL Cool J. When I was younger, I was in love with LL Cool J so I automatically knew I would love this film.
The story is about a woman who is told she only has a short period of time to live. Therefore, she spends her last days in a luxurious hotel abroad, living the life of luxury and adventure. LL Cool J's character chases her around the world to tell her that her results were false and she actually is going to live. He also wants to tell her how much he loves her and wants to be with her. It was super cheesy and romantic, but I loved every moment of it. Years later, I am able to watch the movie on the new provider I got after I asked myself the question how much does cable tv cost. I am reminded of a time when this movie brought me comfort and joy.
  • Finally.... - I get a chance to grab the 2nd award of my baby blog today. Thank you so much Spiky of Oh Bite!: A Journey To Plates for giving me this award and for app...
