Ghost Ship

Since we couldn’t go to my sister in California for a vacation this summer due to my heavy work schedule. My hubby and I plan to go visit  places here and a  place that we can just drive  that the 3 of us will enjoy. I always see to it that the place we’re going always caters for the kids. Our daughter loves to go to theme parks. I searched and found this  Ghost Ship at Morey's Piers a totally newest adventure for the whole family to enjoy.  I keep my fingers crossed that we can go there real soon.

In Times of Difficulties

With all the disaster that every country around the world are encountering. Living in today’s world is getting harder and harder everyday. All because of the soaring prices of food, electricity, water, and medical. A couple with fixed  income like my hubby and I gets depleted and find ourselves having to survive on an even less. Mostly our income goes to food. We never spend on non-essential items but still our salary isn’t enough to cover our needs.
I’m telling you even getting sick we try to avoid not to because we don’t have enough savings.  But  even if your avoiding it things happen unexpectedly. I remember 2 months ago my hubby went home complaining with a severe back aches. I insisted him to have a  cash advance from his employer for him to be able to go to an emergency room. Because that time we’re still waiting for our health insurance.  He said to me “No I can’t do that! I said to him back, why  in my country I can  in just a snap. He smiled at me, saying back to me it’s different here dear.  He’s right, the longer  I  live here, I can say that it is  indeed   different in so many ways from where I came from.  In my observation  no one will be willing to  help you here when it comes to financial difficulties. And for you to survive a living here. You have to do hard  work,  learn how to build wealth  and save more so that unstable times will never  have a bearing on your standard of livin.

Tending To My Garden

Guest post written by Phyllis Daye

I never had a green thumb until I retired and had the time to really learn how to garden. Gardeningwas something that I always wanted to do, but I would always kill pretty potted plants I’d plant or buy to decorate my house or front porch.
Most days my neighbors will see me caring for my plants and flowers out in my garden in front of my house in the mornings. I’ve given growing fruits and vegetables a try, but would rather just buy them in the grocery store and concentrate my work on pretty flowers.
A lot of days my neighbors will be walking down our street in our development and say hi and sometimes stop to chat. So many times neighbors would end up sneaking up on me because I wouldn’t hear them from the street or sidewalk when I had my back turned, working on my garden. One day my friend Marshall came up behind me and suggested that I look into Miracle Ear Hearing Aids to help out with this problem. I took his advice and found one that was right for me.
It’s not like I needed to be able to hear to garden, but it sure helps socializing with my neighbors.

Wong’s Palace

Thanks to John Braun for the guest post

It is pouring down raining outside and I am slated to meet my fiancĂŠe for dinner at an old Chinese restaurant called Wong's Palace. I normally don't care that much for dining out but fiancĂŠe has a red eye flight to catch to go back east for a family gathering. After I finished taking a shower and cleaning up my house a little I was ready to head on out. After entering in my code on home security Anaheim  I had 30 seconds to lock the door and run in the rain to my car. After I left my place I realized I left my wallet at home, but no time to turn around now. I was already 15 minutes late and I wanted to spend as much time as I could with my fiancĂŠe before she had to leave. I hadn't been to Wong's in a couple of years and upon arriving I remembered why I hadn't eaten here in awhile. The carpet could use a deep clean, but other than that the place was nice enough. I ordered the Orange chicken and my fiancĂŠe ordered General chicken and we chatted while waiting for our food. It seemed like an hour before our food arrived and when it did I knew what took so long, they had to heat our plates in the oven at 400 for 45 minutes! Ouch, those plates were hot! The food was bland at best, but it did it's job and filled the hunger spot. After paying way too much for mediocre food I kissed my fiancĂŠe goodbye and we said goodbye, at least until she was flying back in a few days.

Save YoUr Skin

Summer’s on the way here and school days is almost over. I know some other countries like my country Philippines summer is gone. It’s back to school for the kids there now. Anyway, here’s what you need to know this summer and all year long - to protect your family from the number one form of cancer  today the “Skin Cancer”

GET SMART ABOUT SUNSCREEN
You probably already know the obvious rules: Choose a sunscreen with at least SPF 30, apply it 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours. But according to the study what you may not know is that the SPF number refers only to the protection factor against UVB rays, the more intense rays that cause sunburn.  Protecting yourself against UVA rays is trickier. Not all chemicals in sunscreen work as effectively against them. For years scientists thought that UVA rays which penetrate deeper into the skin and are responsible for the premature signs of aging -didn’t cause skin cancer. Unfortunately, research now shows UVA rays can exacerbate the carcinogenic effects of UVA-blocking active ingredients such as avobenzone, oxybenzone, mexoryl, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
On health tips: Find yourself some instant shade: Choose a wide-brimmed hat constructed with tightly woven fabric to block out the sun’s damaging rays.
FYI: Sunscreen should be at least enough to fill a shot glass to protect your body completely.

Share a Show With Your Kids

This is a blog post from Jean Kingston

I am a professional child care provider and a mother of two teen age girls. I work at home. I put in long hours, so I don't get out of the house much, and when I do, it's rarely for entertainment. After all the parent's pick up their kids and I finish cleaning up after my familie's dinner, I love to relax in front of the T.V.  Thank goodness I have a direct tv hd dvr. In the limited amount of time I have to enjoy watching my favorite shows and movies, I will never run out of things to watch. In fact, I simply don't have time to watch it all.
Several of the kids I care for during the day talk about the show, " “Spongebob Squarepants." I decided to check it out one evening while I was folding clothes in my bedroom. After about five minutes, I became a fan of the show. Later that evening, I ended up watching several episodes of it with my husband. The next day I talked about the show with the kids I care for. We all shared our opinions about which episodes were the funniest and why. It was good fun. I don't allow kids to watch TV while in my care, but sharing a favorite show with them is really fun.

My CAT Scan Appointment Today

I am a little bit nervous today. I  don’t understand why my Urologist required me to do a CAT scan if everything was okay with my test a week ago. Well, getting old is really tough. The more numbers add up to my age the more health problems I am getting. I am praying that whatever they find out  it’s not a serious one. I  still want to see my daughter graduate in college or even to see my grandchild  lol!
I miss you all my blogger buddies. I may not always here most of the time now but when I am here, I  try my best to visit you all. I even made a schedules so I can do it at least once a week. Sorry, I'm REAL busy now especially that my father in law just had his surgery last Monday. It’s like I am taking care of 3 kids (my hubby, my princess and my father in law) :-).  I have to go now, hubby is here. Wish me luck everyone. Ciao!!!

EVERYONE!

Are YoU Looking To Revitalize YoUr Hair?

Lately, I noticed my  hair looks dull, feels dry, tangles easily and is difficult to comb or brush, particularly when it is wet.  It’s hard for me to deal with it especially  I am working now.  I don’t have time to play with it.  In winter  it’s hard to get it to hold a style. It breaks easily. And, the static electricity in the air makes it worse.  I feel like  I’ve  stuck my  fingers in an electric socket every time I comb and do something to it.
I was thinking that it could be the weather.  Because my hair used in a Tropical weather and suddenly switched to a New England weather. I tried different kinds of shampoo and conditioner but nothing  change. Last night while watching TV. I seen a new  cleansing conditioner  commercial called Wen by Chaz Dean. It sounds great for me because of the natural ingredients that he used on his product. I always like to use all natural products especially when it comes to my hair and skin care.  Well, it’s kind of expensive for me but let’s see.  It says in the commercial that it works for many celebrity’s in Hollywood. Probably it will work on an ordinary people like me and you also.

Accutane 3

Though I never tried to use Accutane. But  I heard and read a lot about so many stories from the people who had a bad experienced by using this product. In my researched - Accutane is a powerful medicine used for the treatment of moderate to severe acne. It is also used for acne present for many years that has not responded completely to antibiotic pills and creams. Accutane is very effective for nearly all types of breakouts. No other acne medicine works as well for severe acne.

Lately there’s a lot  of indications associated by using  this kind of  medication  some of which are chest pain, dry lips, dry skin, dry eyes, permanent thinning hair that started during treatment, joint and muscle pain, back pain, insomnia, red rashes on arms and spreading to hands also legs.  I really feel bad for  those people who suffered. So,  if you know a person, a friend, relatives whom suffered from catastrophic injuries and  seeking justice. You should contact  accutane lawsuit. They offer no cost unless they win your case.

  • Finally.... - I get a chance to grab the 2nd award of my baby blog today. Thank you so much Spiky of Oh Bite!: A Journey To Plates for giving me this award and for app...
