Here's a list of guidelines that you can use to see if you're a candidate for a drug or alcohol recovery program:
1. You have tried to end your addiction multiple times without success.
2. You have tried every other option, including counseling, 12-step programs, and getting support from friends, family, and co-workers, and nothing has worked.
3.Your addiction is affecting every aspect of your life: your job, your family, your social life, and your personal life.
4.You find yourself making excuses for your addiction on a regular basis and explaining how it's really not that bad and it doesn't affect you very much.
5.Your family and friends feel that a drug or alcohol treatment program would help you and recommend that you go to one.
6.Your counselor or therapist for your addictions recommends that you check into a drug-rehab program.
What to Look for in a Drug Rehabilitation Program
Once you've decided that a drug rehab program is needed, the next step is to find one that fits with your views. There are many different techniques and facilities out there, so you're sure to find one for you. One of the most important features of rehab facilities is the quality of therapy. Although you probably went through some therapy before entering a treatment center, at that time your mind was likely clouded by the drug of choice, which makes therapy difficult. Once that drug is out of your system, you can gain more from your therapy sessions, so make sure to look for one with qualified therapists that have a proven track record.
