Tip Talk Monday: Love Your Linens

My weekend with my hubby and our little one was fun. Though  the weather was nasty. It was raining and snowing hard at the same time. When the  rain and snow stopped  we decided to do mall hopping. We  started to shop some stuffs that we need soon. I will post it here later what I am talking about. And today  Monday as always a busy day for me that’s why I am kind of late for my tip talk Monday. Anyway, let’s talk about the lowdown on how to make your bedding last. I hope you’ll find this tips helpful especially to all the mom’s out there.
WASHING
  •  Avoid washing linens in hot water, which wears out fibers and elastic. Warm water works just fine, and keep the washer turned to the gentlest setting.
  • Choose a mild detergent and steer clear or chlorine bleach, which weakens fivers and can actually yellow whites over time. Instead, to tackle tough stains, use an enzyme-reactive stain remover or go au naturel and brighten while linens by adding a quarter cup of lemon juice or white vinegar during the wash cycle.
  • Comforters need extra TLC: You should have them professionally laundered in an extra-large-capacity commercial machine. When you store them for the warmer months, protect them from dust and humidity by putting then in a zippered bedding bag.
DRYING

  • Though we know it’s utterly impractical, the very best way to dry bed linens is to hang them out on a clotheslines in bright sunshine (unless you have pollen allergies, of course). The second-best-way and far better for your schedule and sanity is to dry setting. To avoid wrinkles, take linens out when they’re still slightly damp and smooth before folding.  Or unwrinkled your sheets by tossing them back in the dryer for five or 10 minutes with a damp cloth.
  • Skip fabric softeners as great as some of them smell, they leave a chemical film on the fabric surfaces that makes it brittle over time.
STORING
  • Store folded sheets in a clean, dry linen closet or someplace else that’s our of direct sunlight, which can fade fabric colors fast.
  • Rotate your sheets often two sets for each bed should do the trick. After you wash one set, put it in he closet and remake your bed with the second set.
To my dear blogger buddies and friends who voted for my daughter thank you so very much. I hope you will all continue to support her until to the last Challenge. Sorry, I don't have much time to visit  you guys tonight. I have to sleep now. I am so tired. I will see you all tomorrow. Goodnight everyone and I love you all!
