My Stress Confessions

As 2009 concludes, and 2010 begins, many of us will reflect on what has passed, and make new resolutions.  Well, I have so much of stress confessions to make. But I said to myself that I am trying to have less stress in 2010.

Here’s some of my stress confessions and my new year’s resolution plans and will try to do my best to practice it in my daily routines. :D

My 1st Stress Confession:
I GET OVERWHELMED
I suffer from the “too much to do, too little time” syndrome. I’m a multitasked, even though I know that it just makes me more stressed.

MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION
I’m going to try to pare down my list by saying no-a key stress reliever. I know sometimes it takes a crisis to spur these changes.

My 2nd Stress Confession:
I OBSESS ABOUT THE LITTLE STUFF
A lot of times before I fall asleep. I’ll think about what I haven’t gotten done and what I still have to do tomorrow. I obsess about  updating my blog (emails, communities, and affiliates) and the dirt in the corners or something that was said about me.

MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION
I’m going to spend minutiae and pay more attention to connecting with the important things in life: family, faith, friends, fun, and health.  I feel stressed when I feel disconnected.

My 3rd Stress Confession:
I GET SO BUSY THAT I FORGET TO EAT
My daily household schedule is crazy plus I have my sidelines. Most of the time I attempt to do it all. Sometimes I’ll skip eating and get a headache. I’m hungry but I don’t have time to eat.

MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTION
Listen to - and take care of - my body. Stress affects our moods, but its real impact is on our bodies. "Research has shown that stress is linked to cardiovascular disease, so it’s a health issue, not just a quality-of-life issue." I need to recognize that by taking care of myself-taking time to eat, sleep and exercise-I’ll be better able to take care of every schedules that I have in the future. I think we’re told to be a superwoman and do it all. We can do a great job, but we should observe our own limits. I need to commit to putting my own needs into my schedule.

How about you? Do you have any stress confession to share? Feel free to share it  here. :) To all: I want to let you know again that I am always grateful for your support. You have been all very kind in continuing to visit my site.

In My Busy Days

I always make sure that there will be a time to  spend  with my family, friends, my new found friends in my neighborhood and in blogosphere. Making time for your friends, and love ones,  I believe that nothing makes closeness fade away than never talking with or seeing each other. Yes, some bonds of relationships may be strong enough to span long silences, most aren't. If you cherish them, spare some of your time  whether it's just the occasional phone call and or once every month get-together.

And for my friends - A true friendship doesn't flee when changes occur. The sign of a good friend is one who stays true through it all --marriage, parenthood, new jobs, new homes, the losses. Just because situations change doesn't mean the person has. How about you guy's, what is your ways in making time for the people dear to you?

A Fun Sunday

Hello! everyone, our weekend was not that great because we had blizzard storm. But my family still had fun though we got a lot of snow on the ground. We had about 12 inches since Saturday midnight and it stops Sunday night. Surely, it is a white Christmas for us.  I love to see snow but the thing is it's hard to keep up cleaning the house. More work for me, especially when the water from the boots melted it turned out white spots because of the salt. The floor gets so nasty, sometimes even you wash the floor how many times  it  didn't come off. Grrrrrr!

I took this photo when I woke up to go to the bathroom early Sunday.

You can't barely see the street. All covered by snow.

My daughter trying to help her dad  shoveling.  She loves to do it.

After she's done shoveling and me done cleaning. We played  for awhile before I cook for our dinner. We had so much fun playing on the snow.

She was trying to make a perfect snow balls. It's hard to make one because the snow is powdery. And powder snow  not design for making a snow ball or snow man.
We use the bird bath as a tray

Looking to find a best deals online?

A good shopping experience is at times more important than what I buy. I am  always eager to find a  good online shopping deals and one that saves me money. Before I buy something I always do  comparison shopping first.  I always compare the prices before  making any purchases. Well, it does require my time and energy but at the end of the day I  know that my hard work pays magnificent rewards.

I learned by using extrabux.com   instead of going directly to  different online retailer stores, at extrabux.com you will get a  cash back rebates every time you shop online through them. Keep your eyes and mind open to get the best value out of your money by comparing the prices with extrabux.com. It also makes your life easier and shopping less time consuming. Saving pennies in everything that I buy makes me feel like I am a smart shopper.

The 3 of Us Wearing Prescription Eyeglasses

It’s hard to keep up on buying eyeglasses for the 3 of us. Because it's a prescription eyeglasses. It cost more than the regular one. My hubby supposedly  getting his  eyeglasses long time ago but he prioritize me because of my headache that didn’t go away due  to vision changes. This time I said to my hubby that he really needs to get one for him. But he's still hesitant because we used to get it at our eye doctor’s office, the last time we purchase mine, they're very expensive.  So, I said to my hubby, I will look through the net if I can find a good deal.  I am, grateful for many things that the internet has brought to us even breaking through the price barrier for buying eyeglasses online. I found so many good deals of reading eyeglasses,  holiday eyeglasses frames, or any other type of prescription glasses from  Zenni Optical. They're  specializes in providing their customers with cheap spectacles. Tip Talk Monday/On Parenting Tips: Protecting Children Online

Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as always. Me I had  a fun weekend with my daughter and our neighbor (my new found friend) here. Yesterday, Ness treat my daughter for her birthday at Chuck E. Cheese’s. We’re all had a good time. I’ll tell you more about it later in my next post. Anyway, I guess it’s been 2 weeks since my last post on Tip talk Monday. Sorry, guys I always busy every first day of the week. But trying to make time. Anyway, here’s a tips on  parenting that I want to share to all the   parents especially to mom’s out there.

Experts says that membership to “social networking” websites such as Facebook and MySpace are commonplace among teens-for many, it’s the primary form of communicating with friends. Teens often have a level of technological sophistication that exceeds the skills of their parents.  How can parents cross the digital divide and educate themselves to protect their kids?

The most important thing to do, say experts is to monitor your children’s online activity. Parents are sometimes reluctant to do this, citing their children’s privacy and trust issues. Trust and communication are good things, but that doesn’t mean that kids necessarily have the common sense, maturity, or life experience to protect them from making serious mistakes.

Experts suggest that parents themselves join Facebook and ask to be recognized as a “friend” of their child, thereby allowing the parents to access the child’s Facebook profile. Experts also suggest that parents ask children for their social networking site passwords and username so that parents can periodically review the content. Another option is for parents to regularly sit down with their child together to review the child’s social networking website content.

Installing parental controls and security software allows parents to monitor where their children go online and with whom they communicate. Free or inexpensive subscription based services are designed to provide a safety net for online activity. Parents can also contact their Internet provider to ask if subscription services are available.  Experts underscore that some children will always find ways to circumvent an adult’s attempts to limit certain access.  This is one of the reasons that parents and children should keep talking about appropriate online activity. One goal should be to help children understand responsible and safe use of the Internet, whether they are being monitored or not.

Tips for Monitoring Kid’s On-Line Activity
  • Put computer in a high traffic area (e.g. kitchen)
  • Limit your children’s time spent online.
  • Consider installing parental controls or using security software.
  • Make sure kids understand basic rules for using social networking sites, especially the importance of keeping passwords private and never posting inappropriate photos.
  • As a parent, join social networking sites.
I am so thankful and lucky for my daughter. Because ever since before she join any sites she ask my permission first.  And she doesn't like social networking. In fact, I am the one who open up a Friendster account for her. To update  her friends and  our family in the  Philippines. :)

On Health and Tip Talk Friday: HELP! My Body Is So Itchy That I Think I'm Going To Scratch My Skin Off!!! :D

When the winter starts I get itch all over my body. My hubby said that it's a case of winter itch, a common and annoying cold-weather condition. How can one season have such a dramatic effect on your skin? Quite simply, the less humidity in the air, the drier your skin will be because it has less moisture to grab on to. Hiding inside won't help because the heat that keeps you toasty also sucks the water straight from your body. And if your over 40, your skin's protective barrier has an even harder time doing it's job.

But here's the good news: These easy lifestyles tweaks will help tremendously.
  1.  When you shower, think short and warm. Long, hot showers might feel good but they're serious moisture-suckers.
  2. Use deodorant or anti-bacterial soap only where you really need it-like under your arms-and stick to gentle, moisturizing cleansers everywhere else.
  3. As soon as you step out of the shower, pat your skin lightly with towel and apply a lotion-one packed with hydrating ingredients such as dimethicone, shea butter, ceramides or petroleum jelly-while your skin is still damp, to trap that precious moisture.
  4. Put a humidifier in your bedroom to keep your skin nourished and happy. Cracking open a window while you sleep helps, too. Pamper your skin this weekend. Have fun! :)

Everyone!

Shoe Shopping Online

It's that time of year again. With Christmas just a few weeks away we are all scrambling to find the best gifts for our family and friends. Shoes  it’s one of  the best gift that you can give. Last year my sister  bought shoes online for my daughter as a Christmas gift. She said it’s easy and more convenient  to shop online, then send it directly to us. Because when she buy it from the store. She needs to send it to us and pay for the shipping. But when you order online, most of the online store offers a free shipping. And she will do it again the same way this Christmas.

But for me shopping online  is  good if you have more online store options to shop. That’s why I  recommend walkingcloud.com.  They have all kinds of brand named shoes like rockport,  clarks and Naot Shoes. Give it a try, Browse through their list of brands equaled with comfort, and affordable pricing!

Travel Talk: Winter Driving Safety Tips

Early this morning it’s snowing like crazy here. But now it’s raining cats and dogs. That's the New England weather. They say that if you don't like the weather wait a minute. Now for  sure the roads are more slippery because the snow will become ice after.  Cold. Snow. Ice.  Well, while the weather outside my seem frightful, there are basic tips for driving safely this season.  I know this  are more applicable to those with the same weather like ours.  To those living in a tropical weather might not interest to read. But who knows later on you  have plan to visit a place same here at least you're aware. :)
 Slow down
Cars require a 30- to 50-percent greater distance to stop in wintry conditions. To accommodate this, reduce speed accordingly; if the speed limit is 60mph, slow down to 40 mph. Make all maneuvers, from steering to braking, slow and steady to prevent skidding. Four-wheel drive doesn’t mean winter weather won’t affect you. “It may help you up the hill, but it won’t slow you down or help you stop going down hill. Don’t get lulled into a false sense of security just because you have a car with a four-wheel drive.

Stay Aware
Ice and snow are most slippery when they are just starting to melt. This is most evident at intersections, where cars stop over the snow, melting it with the heat of the vehicles. Be especially careful at these areas. Even if roads don’t look icy, there could be black ice, a thin layer of invisible ice. This dangerous road condition forms when ice and snow start to thaw and then re-freeze. It is usually found in the morning shady areas like on and off ramps.

Remain Calm
If you feel your car starting to skid, it is crucial that you don’t panic or immediately step on the brake. Look and steer in the direction you want the car to go. Once the car is back on track, begin to accelerate slowly until you are at the speed of traffic.

Be Prepared
It’s important to dress appropriately for the climate inside the car. Don’t wear so many puffy layers of clothing that you cannot move comfortably while driving. Also, wear sensible gloves made for gripping a steering wheel, rather than mittens or other bulky gloves. Keep the heat at a reasonable level inside the car, and stay well ventilated. Excessive heat can lead to drowsy driving. Keep an emergency road kit in your vehicle to prepare for conditions of all sorts.

Always drive safely everyone!

Now before her birthday came, we got the snow and she was sick :) Now, I am the one whose sick, I started throwing up since last night. Just get bored and decided to visit here. :D
